The Cycle North Carolina Mountain Ride is a perfect weekend getaway for any outdoor enthusiast and their families. The ride is a 2-day cycling festival featuring a variety of route options each day that focus on showcasing the beautiful landscapes that Western North Carolina has to offer. The routes vary from 15 to 70 miles and meader along rivers and streams through the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Brevard is a small mountain town with a long list of outdoor activities to keep you occupied while visiting. In 2012, Bike Magazine referred to Brevard and Transylvania County as "America's Best Kept Secret" and noted the area provides some of the country's top road biking. The Brevard area is cradled by the Pisgah National Forest, the Dupont State Recreational Forest and the Nantahala National Forest. They are all laden with diverse hiking and biking trails, lakes, streams, majestic waterfalls (over 250!), fishing holes, natural water slides and climing rocks.
The campsite will be situated at Brevard College's beautiful campus. Within walking distance of the college are great retail shops, eateries and Brevard Brewing Company. In addition, just a few miles away you will find more great food options, Oskar Blues Brewery and Eucusta Brewing Company.
Come visit the "Cycling Capital of the South" and explore all that Transylvania County (the "Land of Waterfalls") has to offer!
