Rosters can be no more than 5 players
Two half-court simultaneous games
Coin flip for initial possession
One point will be scored for a “2-pointer”, and two points scored for a “3-pointer”
Non-shooting foul will result in continued or change of possession
Shooting foul will result in free throw(s) or change of possession
12-minute running clock with each team being allowed one 30 second time out
The first to team 21 or the team with the highest score at end of regulation wins
There is no stalling, and referees have discretion to enforce a 30-second shot clock
After a made field goal, defense gets possession & must execute a check ball beyond the two-point arc
After a dead ball situation, players from both teams execute a “check ball” behind the two-point arc
After any play that results in a change of possession (ex – defensive rebound, steal, block, etc.), the ball must be cleared by dribbling or passing to a teammate behind the two-point arc
In a jump ball situation, possession goes to the team that was on defense
Fouls are charged to the team rather than the player. Each team is allowed a total of six fouls before entering the foul penalty situation. At that point, the opposing team will receive two free throws regardless of what type of foul was committed. Starting with the 10th team foul, the opposing team will also get possession of the ball in addition to the two free throws.
A player can be disqualified for committing two unsportsmanlike fouls during the course of a game.
The referee’s decisions are absolutely final
If the score remains tied after regulation, a 2-minute overtime will commence. The initial possession will be by the team who did not start regulation
If the score is still tied after the overtime, a sudden-death period will commence. The first team to sink a “3-pointer” wins. The initial possession will be by the same team who started regulation.
To keep the tournament on schedule, we ask that teams be assembled, and ready to take the court, at the conclusion of the previous game. We are striving for a 5-minute transition time between the end of one game and the start of the next.
