The 2010 Powerade State Games of North Carolina Opening Ceremonies will be held June 18 in the Paladium at Carowinds Amusement and Water Park in Charlotte. Participants can enter the Paladium free of charge (but not Carowinds Amusement Park) and free parking will be available on June 18 from 6pm-8pm. Arrive early for interactive games, Powerade sampling, music and more at the State Games Block Party before the ceremonies start. Athletes that participate in the Parade of Athletes will receive a Powerade State Games gift for attending Opening Ceremonies, while supplies last.
The Parade of Athletes will start at 8 p.m. The Opening Ceremonies show will be interactive with fun contests, games, and chances to win many prizes for yourself and your team! The Powerade State Games Olympic cauldron will be lit after the torch run to announce the official start of the Powerade State Games of North Carolina! Athletes must be in the Carowinds Paladium by 7:15 p.m. to participate in the Parade of Athletes and receive your free athlete gift.
Discounted ticket prices (includes water park) will also be available for Powerade State Games participants, family, and friends. Prices are $21.99 (Juniors/Seniors) and $29.99 (Regular admission).
